Police have arrested a man after a woman was attacked in Coventry. She was found injured near Grace Academy in Walsgrave.
Officers taped off part of Wigston Road at around 12.15pm today (March 30). It followed reports that a woman had been assaulted, leaving her with cuts on her hands.
Cops arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and took him in for questioning. He remains in custody this afternoon (March 30).
West Midlands Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Information can be given by calling 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We have arrested a man after a woman was discovered with injuries on Wigston Road in Coventry at just after 12.15pm today (March 30).
“She sustained cuts to her hands, and the 48-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He is currently in custody for questioning.
“We are continuing our enquiries, and anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 and quoting log 1841 of March 30.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to an incident on Wigston Road in Walsgrave at 12.19pm. Crews found a woman and she was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to hospital.”
