An estimated 50,000 supporters are expected to descend on Coventry this Bank Holiday Monday for a massive celebration marking the club’s return to the top flight. Coventry City FC has arranged what it calls the most significant gathering the city has ever witnessed to commemorate the Sky Blues’ elevation to the Premier League. The festivities at War Memorial Park will feature live performances including The Enemy, alongside numerous food and beverage vendors throughout the venue.
The ticketed occasion will implement security measures at entry points, with prohibited items subject to seizure. Anyone found possessing such items risks denial of entry or removal from the premises.
The following items are forbidden: pyrotechnics and flares; flag poles; selfie sticks; glass containers such as bottles, cosmetics cases and perfume; umbrellas exceeding thirty centimetres; single-use vaping devices; aerosol cans encompassing deodorants, antiperspirants, hairspray, dry shampoo and spray paint; alcoholic beverages; and all other drinks. Exceptions are made for infant formula milk and one sealed, unopened 500ml water container per person, with complimentary water refills accessible on site. Also prohibited are drones, quadcopters and remotely operated flying devices; illegal drugs, psychoactive substances, nitrous oxide and newly developed intoxicants; smoke canisters, flag sticks and banners; megaphones, air horns and pressurised air canisters; sky lanterns; candles; amplification equipment and generators; animals except registered guide dogs; portable laser devices and pointers; non-official high-visibility garments or tabards; portable or disposable barbecues alongside gas or paraffin-fuelled heating equipment; placards or materials bearing political, religious, offensive or racially discriminatory content, slogans or images; items reasonably considered capable of use as weapons; professional photographic or video equipment including single-lens reflex cameras with detachable lenses; and any items bearing trademarks or promotional messages that authorised personnel determine are intended for commercial purposes. Any of these items may be removed, confiscated or destroyed without compensation at the discretion of event staff. Face coverings are not permitted except medical masks or religious headwear.
Bag restrictions apply: one bag per person, maximum A4 dimensions. Larger bags may be permitted under special circumstances such as for parents with infants and young children, at management’s discretion. No bag storage will be provided at the venue.
Food is permitted though it must be transported in a single bag not exceeding A4 size, with one bag allowed per individual. Camping chairs are not allowed. Dogs are prohibited from the festival site, with only qualified registered guide dogs permitted entry. Other categories of assistance dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Those requiring an assistance dog must contact organisers before the event.
No public wireless internet will be available on site. Attendees are advised to add tickets to their Apple or Google wallet prior to arrival.
The event runs from 1pm until 7pm, with final entry at 3pm. Season ticket holders can currently purchase tickets for £5, while general admission tickets go on sale to the public on Wednesday 29 April at £10.
