A former social venue in Coventry that was once well-known in the area has reopened as a shisha establishment. The historic Royal Warwick’s Club building on Tower Street in the city centre now houses a business named Mi Amor Lounge. According to information on the business website, the venue provides premium shisha products, live entertainment, cocktail drinks and prepared meals. Motorists travelling on the ring road in recent weeks will have noticed the property’s exterior undergo a striking transformation with the entire façade now finished in black paint. Social media accounts associated with the business indicate that a launch celebration took place earlier this month. The operators recently submitted licence applications to Coventry City Council seeking permission to sell alcoholic beverages and provide musical entertainment. The licensing submission bears the date of 28 March and requests authorisation to sell alcohol every day of the week between midday and midnight, with an extension until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. The application also seeks approval to provide live music, recorded music and dance performances during those same operating hours. The consultation period for this application runs until 28 April 2026. The Royal Warwick’s Club was originally established by service personnel from the 7th battalion of the Royal Warwickshire regiment following the conclusion of the First World War. The Tower Street property near the ring road became their base during the 1970s, having previously operated from premises on Prior Street.
