Thieves made off with thousands of pounds’ worth of goods in a raid on a business in Warwickshire. Golden Collectables in Shipston was targeted in the early hours of Saturday morning (March 28).
Two men were seen scouting the building for over 30 minutes before forcing their way in and taking items worth more than £7,000. Owner Harry Williams said he was quickly alerted to the break-in which forced the perpetrators to flee with the stolen goods.
Harry said they are dealing with damage, repairs, and stolen items totalling around £7,000. Opening the business in the days following the burglary has been ‘mentally exhausting,’ he said.
Harry said: “Small businesses like myself can live day to day and experience real financial struggles. I have finally gotten to the point I could start paying myself a small salary, but I guess that has been delayed.
“It does not just affect me. It affects my partner Kaci, my family and the wider Golden Collectables community, so when you look at this in the larger picture, it really hurts.
“I am now sat in the store at 8am. With zero hours’ sleep, feeling sick, useless, tired and mentally exhausted. It is a bump in the road that will be conquered.”

Warwickshire Police confirmed to CoventryLive that they are investigating. Anyone with information is urged to contact them by calling 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Officers are investigating a burglary at a business on Church Street in Shipston just after midnight on March 28. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, giving incident number 9 of March 28.”
